Located at Paynes Park on the western edge of the town centre, Hitchin Museum and Art Gallery has six main galleries: two art galleries and a social history gallery on the ground floor, which leads into the Yeomanry Gallery; upstairs are the Costume Gallery, and the Pharmacy Gallery.
Located on Queen Street on the eastern edge of the town centre, the British Schools Museum, Hitchin tells the story of Joseph Lancaster and his monitorial teaching method. The surviving Lancasterian Schoolroom is the only one remaining in the world today.
Located on Broadway in Letchworth Garden City, Letchworth Museum and Art Gallery has four main galleries: downstairs is the Natural History Gallery; the small Mezzanine Gallery and the main Art Gallery both have monthly changing exhibitions; the “Before the Garden City” Gallery displays rich archaeological collections.
Located in Baldock Town Hall (Hitchin Street entrance) and open Wednesdays 11am-1.30pm and Sundays 2-4pm, Baldock Museum and Local History Society is a small, community-run museum staffed by volunteers who raise all their own funding. It has changing displays exploring particular features of the town's history. The Society also hosts talks once every two months on subjects relevant to Baldock's history.

A web portal into the collections of over three thousand museums, the 24 Hour Museum is the UK’s National Virtual Museum, updated daily with at least two new stories. It promotes publicly-funded UK museums, galleries, archives and heritage attractions and seeks to get the message about Britain’s great culture to a broad online audience nationally and worldwide.
