Hitchin has been home to many talented residents. To celebrate the millennium a Blue Plaque scheme was introduced to the town marking 13 outstanding town centre buildings, many with a connection to a special person. This leaflet leads you on a trail round the town and explains the significance of each plaque. It also details other sites of interest beyond the town centre where plaques may be put up at a later date.
