Archaeology in Hitchin

Keith and Tony Fitzpatrick-Matthews

Archaeology is about people,  especially the ordinary people like most of us, who live in quiet anonymity but whose daily lives slowly change the world around them. This book looks at the remains of old Hitchin, from the very earliest traces of people who lived hundreds of thousands of years ago to buildings constructed a few weeks ago. Hitchin has changed immensely through time, but has retained much of its past for us to see and appreciate in the present.
