On a sunny Thursday, 14th June 2012, Her Majesty the Queen visited Hitchin during her tour of the British Isles to celebrate the 50th anniversary of her succession to the throne. This DVD is a record of the day, beautifully filmed, entertaining and engaging. It captures hundreds of local people at a happy moment, and includes a speeded-up run-through of the Market Place before and after the visit, with the laying of the red carpet, the arrival of snakes of schoolchildren, and the clearing away afterwards.
The film lasts for about 11 minutes and includes commentary by Richard Whitmore and music by Hitchin Band.
