The Journal is published twice a year and contains articles on Hitchin’s history, as well as members’ reminiscences and research, and covers the impact of current events on the town’s heritage. It is an informal medium of communication and information between members.
Contributors are free to express their views, which do not necessarily coincide with those of Hitchin Historical Society.
The Newsletter keeps members abreast of Society news and events in the town. Less formal than the Hitchin Journal, it gives details about past and present events, publications and members’ queries. It is published twice a year.
Since its inception, the society has had an active publications programme. We produce high-quality publications on the history of the town, its buildings and people. Use the 'Books' link (above right) to see our publications list. New publications are constantly in the pipeline and more details about forthcoming items can be found here.
Eric T Moore Books of Bridge Street, Hitchin, who regularly stock our publications and many second-hand local history books too, has very kindly offered a 10% discount to Society members. This applies to most purchases of new and second-hand stock, so be sure to take your current HHS membership card with you.
