The Hitchin Journal is also published twice a year. It contains articles on Hitchin’s history as well as members’ reminiscences, research, photographs and appeals for information. It also covers the impact of current events on the town’s heritage. It is an informal medium of communication and information between members. Past copies of journals are not available but many of the articles have been brought together in a series of books. Books and multimedia publications : Since its inception, the society has had an active publications programme. We produce high-quality publications on the history of the town, its buildings and people. Samples of some of the books are available to borrow from the HHS library at the indoor meetings.
